Privacy Policy

Effective

This Privacy Policy explains what information the Smart Living Apps website and the Awaited app use, where that information stays and what choices you have. In short: Awaited keeps everything on your device. It has no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and it does not have permission to use the internet, so it cannot send your information to us or to anyone else.

1. Who we are

Smart Living Apps ("Smart Living Apps", "we", "us" or "our") is an app studio that builds mobile apps. We are responsible for the website and the apps described in this policy. You can reach us at hello@smartlivingapps.com.

This policy covers the website and the Awaited app, including its home-screen widgets. Before we release another app, we will add a section for it here, or publish a separate policy for it, and that app will link to it.

2. Awaited at a glance

  • Awaited does not collect, sell or share any personal information.
  • Everything you add to Awaited, including events you import from your calendar, is stored only on your device.
  • Awaited does not ask for internet access, so it cannot send information off your device.
  • Awaited has no user accounts, advertising, analytics, tracking or third-party software that collects data.
  • Every permission Awaited asks for is optional. You can use the app without granting any of them.

3. Your calendar

Awaited lets you add an event to a widget in two ways: by importing an event from your device's calendar, or by creating your own event in the app. Importing is optional and needs your permission to read your calendar. If you do not grant it, you can still create your own events.

Awaited reads your calendar only while you are choosing an event to import. It reads the title, description, date and time of your upcoming events so it can list them for you. It does not read your calendar in the background.

When you pick an event, Awaited saves a copy of it in the widget, on your device. From then on the event is managed inside Awaited. Changes you make to it in Awaited do not change your calendar, and Awaited never adds, changes or deletes anything in your calendar. The events you did not pick are not saved.

You can take back calendar access at any time in your device's settings. Events already saved in your widgets stay until you remove them.

4. Other information Awaited keeps on your device

  • Events you create yourself: the name, date, time and any details you enter.
  • Your settings for each widget, such as colors, shape, transparency and how the progress and countdown are shown.
  • Your general settings, such as the default look for new widgets.

This information never leaves your device through Awaited. It is deleted when you remove a widget, clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

5. Permissions Awaited asks for

  • Calendar (read only): to list your upcoming events when you choose to import one. Optional.
  • Notifications: to let you know when an event begins, at the moment the widget changes to "Now". Optional. Without it, the widget still counts down but you do not get an alert.
  • Run at startup: to keep your widgets and event alerts on schedule after your device restarts. This does not read or share any information.

6. Google Play and device backup

Awaited is distributed through Google Play. When you download it, Google handles the download and any purchase under Google's own privacy policy. Google may share with us information that does not identify you, such as how many devices installed the app and crash reports, if you have chosen to share them with app developers in your device settings.

If Android backup is turned on, Android may include Awaited's settings and saved events in your device's backup to your Google account, so they can be restored on a new device. This backup is handled by Google, under Google's privacy policy, and you can turn it off in your device settings. We cannot see your backups.

7. The website

Our website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers. Like every website, the company that hosts it may record technical information, such as your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, in server logs that it uses to deliver and protect the website.

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you choose to write. We use it only to reply to you and to handle your request, and we do not add you to any mailing list.

The support form does not send anything itself. It writes your name, what your message is about and the message into a new email in your own email app, and nothing is sent until you press Send there. The website does not store what you type.

8. Sharing and selling

We do not sell, rent or share your personal information with anyone for advertising or any other purpose. We may disclose the emails you send us only if the law requires it.

9. How long we keep information

Information in Awaited stays on your device for as long as you keep it there, and we never have a copy. We keep emails you send us for as long as we need them to help you, and then delete them. You can ask us to delete them sooner.

10. Your rights and choices

You control the information in Awaited directly: you can edit or remove events and widgets, take back permissions in your device's settings, clear the app's data or uninstall the app.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to correct it, to delete it or to object to how we use it. Because Awaited keeps everything on your device, the only personal information we may hold is the emails you send us. To make a request, email hello@smartlivingapps.com. You may also complain to your local data protection authority.

11. Children

Our apps and website are not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Awaited does not collect personal information from anyone. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us at hello@smartlivingapps.com and we will delete it.

12. Security

Because Awaited keeps your information on your device and has no internet access, your information is protected by your device's own security, such as its screen lock and encryption. Keep your device's software up to date and protected with a screen lock.

13. Changes to this policy

If we change how our apps or website use information, we will update this policy and its effective date before the change takes effect. If a change is significant, such as an app starting to collect information it did not collect before, we will also tell you in the app or on its store page.

14. Contact us

If you have any questions about this policy or about your information, email us at hello@smartlivingapps.com.
